What is a PC?
A PC is basically a Personal Computer. The PC today has become an integral part of our lives, steering our world into a new age of entertainment and technology. Today I'm going to go through the different aspect of a PC; the different components that make a computer function and operate the way it does.
Motherboard
This is the most important part of your computer system, it's basically the device that all the other devices are connected to; this in turn gives you a computer system that is able to do the things we do on them.
Graphics Card
This device is designed to tackle all graphical aspects of your computer system. From the image you see on your screen when you turn it on, to the 3d graphics processing when you load up a game.
Sound Card
This device deals with all the sound effects, if you want a system that is able to deliver audio, whether top quality or not, then you should consider investing in one of these cards.
Hard Drive
This device is used for storing all the information on your computer. It's not the only device where information is stored, but it is typically the last place your system will access information from when you turn it on, open a file and run a program.
CD/DVD Rom Drive
This device reads the data from your CD/DVD disc; copies it onto your systems hard drive and projects it onto your screen, with the help of other components of course.
Central Processing Unit
The CPU is the brain of the computer and determines how fast the system will operate and how many calculations it's able to tackle at any one time.
